Despite a slightly rocky start (with Denny’s giving our reserved room to another group… again!), our members quickly adapted and turned another evening into a fantastic night of magic. Although we ended up a little more cramped than expected, the enthusiasm, creativity, and camaraderie made it another memorable Fresno Magic Club meeting.
Welcome, Kim!
One of the highlights of the evening was welcoming Kim to her very first Fresno Magic Club meeting. Kim shared a little about her journey into magic and her experience performing for families at Storyland in Fresno. We always enjoy meeting new magicians, and we’re so glad you joined us. We hope this is the first of many meetings together!
Exploring the New Fresno Magic Club Website
Members got a first look at the newly redesigned Fresno Magic Club website, which has been steadily growing into a resource for the entire club.

- The new Research Card Catalogue
- Tutorials
- Our Facebook page and private Facebook group
Don’t forget: Click the “Login” button in the top menu and create a free WordPress account to unlock member-exclusive tutorials and other resources. As the site continues to grow, more exclusive content will be added for members.
We also encourage everyone to participate in our Facebook community by sharing photos, performance videos, ideas, and stories between meetings.
Member Performances & Sharing
One of the best parts of every meeting is seeing what our members have been working on, and this month certainly didn’t disappoint.
Logan
Logan shared an original card effect in which a freely selected card proved to be the only odd-backed card in the deck. It’s always exciting to see members creating their own material, and this was a clever routine that everyone enjoyed. Great work, Logan!
Jeff
Jeff amazed the room with a prediction effect involving a cartoon ladybug. After Kim freely decided how many spots to draw, Jeff revealed he had accurately predicted the final outcome from the very beginning. It was a fun, engaging routine that fooled everyone.
Ryan
Ryan demonstrated a version of Dunbury’s Delusion, one of the first routines he learned from Patrick during his early days with the club. It remains one of his favorite card effects and served as a reminder of how much can grow from the ideas shared during our meetings.
Brady
Brady treated everyone to two memorable stories from his magical journey.
First, he performed an outstanding card routine in which Kim’s freely selected card ultimately appeared spelled out across the backs of the four Aces from the same deck.
He also shared a wonderful story from a recent school performance, where an impromptu moment involving a vending machine transformed a Joker into a student’s selected card. It was one of those unforgettable spectator interactions that reminds us why we perform.
Even more exciting, Brady announced that his growing success performing at schools is allowing him to pursue magic as a full-time career. We couldn’t be happier for him and wish him tremendous success as this exciting new chapter begins.

Max
Max presented nearly 20 minutes from the act he’s preparing for an upcoming performance at The Magic Castle. His set featured plenty of audience participation and concluded with an especially creative original routine involving a box of DVDs. Watching polished performances like this is always inspiring, and we’re looking forward to seeing him take the Castle stage.
Learning Session with Patrick
Patrick wrapped up the evening by teaching a series of Cutting the Aces routines, including several versions where the spectators themselves locate the four Aces.
These routines generated lots of discussion and gave everyone plenty of new material to practice before our next meeting.
The tutorials will be available soon in the Tutorials section of the website.
We’ll also be posting a parts list and instructions for anyone interested in building a version of the close-up performance table Ryan brought for members to use during the meeting.
Looking Ahead
Although the evening was a little tighter on space than we’d hoped, the quality of the magic—and the company—more than made up for it.
We’re actively exploring new meeting venues that will give us more room to grow while keeping the welcoming atmosphere that makes our club special. Stay tuned for updates.
